Sometimes it’s hard to believe that my job is based off of going to beautiful locations, meeting amazing people, and playing with their sweet kids. When I was planning the session out with the Kennedy family I already had an idea in my head of what I wanted the session to look like. Melissa was more than happy to let me plan all the details and I knew I had to have the perfect location. Finding locations is one of my favorite parts of being a photographer. Whenever I am out I am looking, I can’t shut it off. I love watching the way light spills in from trees onto the grass. I love watching the way plants change in a spot from spring to summer, those white wild daisies popping up sporadically in between trees. I love coming back at sunset to see a field painted over in beautiful golden light. A beautiful location can make your session magical. So when I found this little gem of a spot I knew I had to shoot there. With my husband’s help I was able to track down the property owner and they welcomed me with open arms to shoot here. It could not have been more perfect.
I knew Melissa and her adorable daughter Berkeley had a special bond and I really wanted to capture that. Their love was so effortless, I just let them be together and sat back and watched their affectionate love.
And of course dad had to get in one or two shots as well!
I am beyond lucky that my clients trust me to capture their precious moments together. Melissa, thank you for sharing your sweet family with me.
You’re lovely, with your smile so warm
And your cheeks so soft,
There is nothing for me but to love you,
And the way you look tonight.
